MALAPPURAM: A student who was taking a bath in the river died after being swept away by the current. The deceased is Arjun (17), a native of Malappuram Chunkathara Kaippini. Arjun was a plus two student of Chunkathara MBM School.

The accident happened on Wednesday morning. Arjun met with misfortune while taking a bath in the Chaliyar river. Locals immediately tried to save him but could not. The fire brigade recovered the body and shifted it to the hospital. The body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem.
