KOCHI: Vigilance caught two excise officers who took four litres of liquor as a bribe. Circle Inspector Unais Ahmed and Preventive Officer Sabu Kuriakos of Beverages Corporation's Thripunithura Petta warehouse were caught by vigilance. Two litres of liquor were seized from each of them.

They were caught during the inspection conducted by DySP Jayaraj and Inspector Zia Ulhaq on the instructions of Ernakulam Central Superintendent C Sasidharan based on the information received by the Director of Vigilance. Vigilance said that further investigation will be done and follow-up action will be taken.

Vigilance officials said that the duo bought two liters of liquor each as a bribe from the liquor loads being taken from the warehouse to the beverage outlets. Officials said more inspections will be conducted as part of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
