THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of isolated light rain in the state for the next five days. The low-pressure area located over the southwest Bay of Bengal has intensified. It is likely to move towards the north Tamil Nadu-south Andhra Pradesh coast in the next 24 hours. It is also likely to move northwards parallel to the Andhra coast, the IMD said. Meantime, there is no special warning in any district of Kerala.


Due to the possibility of strong winds and bad weather, fishing is prohibited in areas such as the Bay of Bengal, the Tamil Nadu coast and Andhra Pradesh coast. Today, there is a possibility of strong winds speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph and at times reaching 55 kmph along and bad weather along and off Tamil Nadu coast, adjoining Kanyakumari region, Gulf of Mannar, south Andhra Pradesh coast, northern parts of southwest Bay of Bengal and south parts of west central Bay of Bengal.


Tomorrow, there is a possibility of strong winds speed reaching 55 kmph along and bad weather along and off north Tamil Nadu coast, adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal and west central Bay of Bengal. Strong winds speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph and at times reaching 55 kmph are likely to prevail over West Central Bay of Bengal, North Andhra Pradesh coast, adjoining North West Bay of Bengal and North Andhra Pradesh coast on 21st and 22nd. Fishing is not allowed in these areas on the above dates.
