THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A seventh-class student was bitten by a snake in the classroom. The incident took place at Chenkal Government UPS in Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram. Neha, a seventh-class student, was bitten by a snake while Christmas celebrations were going on in the classroom. The incident took place on Friday around 12 noon.

The child was bitten by a snake on her right leg. Other children were also present in the class at this time. Neha sprang away immediately after getting bitten by the snake. The child was immediately taken to Neyyatinkara General Hospital and treated. She is still under observation. The family of the child was informed after her hospitalization. Neha was bitten by a saw-scaled viper. The school authorities beat the snake to death.

The whole area of ​​the school is forested. It is believed that the snake may have reached the class from here. Residents and parents are now asking the school authorities to clean the school premises as soon as possible.
