SABARIMALA: A man died and three others were seriously injured after a car overturned and fell into a gorge in Ponnampara on the Chalakkayam-Pampa road on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Changanassery Perunna native Babu (63). The accident occurred at around 3 pm on Friday.

Babu and five others were returning after visiting Sabarimala when they met with the accident. Although Babu was rushed to the Nilakkal Government Hospital, his life could not be saved. The injured people- Aarushi (9), Sasi and Arjun- have been shifted to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Two others, including the car driver, sustained minor injuries and are undergoing treatment at the Nilakkal Hospital.
