KOZHIKODE: Writer luminary MT Vasudevan Nair’s health condition continues to be critical. Doctors said his body was responding to medicines, though mildly. MT, now undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Baby Memorial Hospital, is still in the intensive care unit under the watch of expert doctors. MT was admitted to the hospital with respiratory problems on the 15th of this month.
On Friday morning, while undergoing treatment, the writer’s condition worsened after doctors confirmed a cardiac arrest. He was then put on ventilator support. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan enquired about the writer’s health condition with his family.
Minister Mohammed Riyas, who visited the writer at the hospital on Friday briefed media about the health condition. The minister assured all government help to MT’s family and raised hope about the writer soon coming out of the health scare.
Minister AK Saseendran, CPM politburo member MA Baby, Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai and others reached the hospital and spoke to the doctors and relatives. All the family members are in the hospital. Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi spoke to MT’s daughter over the phone and enquired about the situation.
