actress-assault-case

KOCHI: In a setback for the survivor in the 2017 actress assault case, the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court has denied her request for an open court hearing. The actress had filed a petition in the trial court on December 12, seeking to conduct the final arguments in an open court, stating that there was no objection to the public knowing the details of the trial.

In her petition, the actress stated that false information was being spread against her regarding the trial. She requested that the final arguments be heard in an open court to ensure that the real facts of the trial would come to light.

The actress was brutally assaulted inside a running car in Kochi in February 2017. Nine people, including actor Dileep, are accused in the case. Two people were earlier dropped from the list of accused, and one person was made an approver in the case. The first accused, Pulsar Suni, was recently granted bail by the Supreme Court after nearly seven and a half years.
