THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM Thiruvananthapuram district conference severely criticized the police and the government. The representatives criticized the state administration and the home department in harsh language during the discussion on the action report presented by district secretary V Joy. The criticism was in the presence of the Chief Minister.
The representatives who participated in the discussion alleged that the CPM leaders are not even given the same treatment as the Congress and BJP leaders at the police stations. Because of this, even the party ranks are not getting help from the police. The branch secretaries are deeply disappointed.
The decision to give the post of DGP to ADGP Ajithkumar was also criticized. The representatives criticized that if Ajith Kumar deserved the post of DGP, he should have gone to court to get it.
"The second left government is a big failure. The second Pinarayi government happened because the first government had better governance. However, given the current situation, there is no need to hope for a third Pinarayi government to come to power," said the participants in the discussion. The representatives criticized the revenue department also. The criticism was that the village offices are not people-friendly.
"The functioning of the SFI unit in University College is a disgrace to the party. The district committee should realize that SFI is slipping away from the party and take action." DYFI was also criticized. "DYFI operation is not active at all." The representatives also pointed out that it is not possible to bring the youth closer to the DYFI organization.
There was a lot of criticism against the health department. The representatives said that there was no justification for increasing the charge of OP tickets when the party that had been protesting against the increase in OP ticket charges in government hospitals is in power. There is no minister in the health department. Arrears of welfare pension without timely payment will cause harm to the government and the party. The representatives demanded that the dues should be paid in full before the local elections.
Points of criticism
In the report presented by district secretary V Joy, it was pointed out that the party has failed in appointing Mangalapuram area secretary Madhu to the top position of the party. The report did not criticize Corporation Mayor Arya Rajendran and District Panchayat President Suresh Kumar. However, the report says that the mayor should behave more maturely.
During the discussion on the report, the representatives asked why it was too late to fire Madhu, who was the area secretary for six years, even though the party knew his faults. Some representatives said that Congress and BJP are attacking Mayor Arya Rajendran, who has received many awards. 10 representatives participated in the discussion. The discussion will continue today.
