KATTAPPANA: A nine-member team including two CIs has started an investigation under the leadership of Kattappana ASP Rajesh Kumar into the suicide of Investor Sabu in front of the society due to non-payment of deposit money. Idukki District Police Chief TK Vishnu Pratheep said that CCTV footage has been collected and more evidence will be found.

All complaints related to the incident will be investigated. No charges of abetment of suicide have been filed at present. VR Saji's threats to Sabu over the phone will also come under the ambit of investigation. Statements of all family members were recorded. Statements of society employees accused in the suicide report will also be recorded. More sections will be added after collecting evidence.

Sabu was found hanging dead in front of the Kattappana Rural Development Co-operative society on the 20th. In the suicide note found in Sabu's pocket, it was written that bank secretary Reji and employees Binoy and Sujamol were responsible for his death. The family also came forward with severe criticism against the society afterwards. Soon after, a threatening phone conversation with former bank president and CPM area secretary VR Saji Sabu also came to light. There was widespread protest. Yesterday Minister Roshi Augustine and PV Anvar MLA visited Sabu's house and met the family members. Minister Roshi August was shown black flag by Youth Congress workers in protest.
