THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V Joy has been re-elected as the Thiruvananthapuram district secretary of the CPM. The election win was unopposed. Joy became the district secretary in 2023 in the vacancy created when Anavoor Nagappan came to the state secretariat.

Joy, who entered the public domain through SFI, has been an MLA from Varkala constituency for two consecutive terms. He served as SFI district president, secretary, DYFI district vice president, Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat member, Azhoor panchayat president, two-time Chirayinkeezhu block panchayat president and Kerala university senate member.
