KOZHIKODE: More information surface in the incident of finding two dead in a caravan parked on the roadside at Karimbanapalam in Vadakara. The dead are Manoj and Joyel, employees of Lifeline Hospitality Company at Edappal in Malappuram. Manoj is from Wandoor in Malappuram and Joel from Parasseri in Kannur.
A family from Kunnamkulam was taken to Kannur to attend a wedding on Sunday in the caravan. Joel and Manoj then left Kannur that night at 11.30 pm. They parked the vehicle on the roadside in Karimbanapalam at around 12:30. The vehicle was supposed to reach Malappuram by Monday afternoon. An investigation by the company found that the vehicle was parked at Karimbanapalam with the help of GPS after the caravan did not arrive. A local resident was informed later. Two bodies were found in the caravan in an investigation conducted by the locals.
Joel's body was found wrapped in a blanket at the back of the caravan. Manoj's body was lying next to the door in the caravan. Manoj had the keys of the vehicle in his hand. The police suspect that they may have died while trying to escape. The police believe that gas leak from the AC may have been the cause of death. The inquest proceedings will be completed soon. The bodies have not been shifted from the caravan.
