THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A snake that sneaked into the Secretariat again caused panic among the employees. The snake entered the office of the assistant engineer of the public works electrical department. The incident happened Tuesday morning at around 10.15 am today. The employees led by the health inspector beat the reptile to death.

A similar incident happened two days ago. The snake was found in the corridor behind the Durbar Hall. The officials of the water resources department found the snake near the room of the additional secretary of the cooperative department. The housekeeping department then informed the snake catchers. However, as the crowd gathered, the snake moved from the corridor to the cardboard boxes.

Despite searching for a long time, it could not be found. The employees then said the snake was not poisonous and was a churutta (a non-venomous snake). The officials had said that all the holes in this block would be closed immediately under the leadership of the PWD Civil AE.
