KOLLAM: Several people were injured after a KSRTC bus collided with a car in Kollam Nilamel. The car was returning from Thiruvananthapuram airport and met with the accident at Murukkumon. The injured passengers, including women, were admitted to the hospital. Two car passengers are in critical condition, undergoing treatment. Police took the KSRTC driver into custody. The accident took place at three in the evening.

The KSRTC bus was going from Pathanapuram to Thiruvananthapuram. According to onlookers, the bus was speeding, which is now stated as the mainspring for the accident. The CCTV visuals of the accident are also out. From the visuals, it can be seen that the bus after ramming into the car, continued to move forward in the impact of the collision. The front portion of the car was destroyed. Two people who were seated in the front seats of the car are currently in critical condition.

An autorickshaw that was tailing the bus also got involved in the accident. The auto-rickshaw driver suffered a leg fracture. Besides the driver, a mother and a child, passengers in the auto are now undergoing treatment for minor injuries. The injured have been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

The KSRTC driver has been currently taken to Chadayamangalam police station. He will undergo a medical examination.
