PALAKKAD: There are special services of the railways from places where Malayalis live in large numbers to Kerala to solve the travel woes during the Christmas holidays. These services are beneficial for many travelers. The timing of a train from Bengaluru, where a large number of Malayalees outside Kerala live, came into effect from the previous day. The Vande Bharat Express from Bengaluru to Coimbatore has undergone a slight change in schedule for ten days.
The train service runs from Bengaluru to Coimbatore. Many Malayalees use this train which runs to Coimbatore which shares the border with Palakkad. The Bengaluru-Coimbatore Vande Bharat is a service which helps passengers from Palakkad, Thrissur and Malappuram districts to reach home faster. The change in train timings are on December (23,24,25,27,28,31) and January (1,4,5,6).
The South Western Railway has informed in a press release that the train will depart Bengaluru Cantonment 15 minutes late at 2.35 pm. The train schedule has been changed due to the construction work of the railway on the Hosur route. Vande Bharat departs Bengaluru Cantonment Station at 14:20 PM on days except Thursday and reaches Coimbatore Junction at 8:25 PM. The train ticket price is Rs 1175 for the AC chair car and Rs 2110 for the executive chair car. The train covers a distance of 377 km in 6 hours and 25 minutes.
