Actor Mammootty shared a heartfelt note on the demise of M T Vasudevan Nair. Mammootty wrote that getting a place in his heart is the greatest blessing he has received in his film career. The actor responded via a Facebook post. The two, who worked together in many films, maintained friendship outside the film industry as well.

Some say that MT discovered Mammootty. I was the one who wanted to see him, prayed for him, and thus found him. That relationship grew from the day I saw him.

It grew like a friend, like a brother. When he stumbled during a programme in Ernakulam four or five months ago and leaned on my chest, I felt that I was that man's son. Getting a place in that heart is the greatest blessing I have received in my film career. I have portrayed many of his soulful characters I don't remember any of that now. An era is fading away. My mind feels empty. I spread my arms wide.
