KOZHIKODE: Director Shrikumar Menon said M T Vasudevan Nair had really wanted to make Randamoozham a film. He added that MT was disappointed as it didn’t happen. Menon was speaking to the media after reaching MT's house in Kozhikode.

There was a huge crisis on the film’s budget. It was a big budget film costing more than Rs 1000 crores. He also clarified that he feels sad and guilty for not making the film. Menon said that he will no longer be able to make Randamoozham a movie and that he has no chance for it.

'We have so many talented directors among us. Making Randamoozham a film would be the biggest tribute that can be paid to MT after his demise. I want to see Randamoozham as a good work of art. The court proceedings ended with such an understanding,' clarified the director. Menon also shared a Facebook post.

His post
Can I have one more turn… to tell you a story. The moment I spent sitting under your armchair, listening while reading the script of Randamoozham in Thrissur, Mumbai, and Kozhikode, are the most precious in my life.

My father had studied with you in Victoria College. You have told me that my father was the inspiration for your famous early work, ‘Valarthu Mringangal’. One of my uncles was the manager of Gemini Circus at that time. My father and you had gone to see the circus and saw that life firsthand.

The circus was in the evening. Before that, my father had taken permission and spent two or three days in the circus tent talking to the animals and artists, and I had heard you mention with respect that you wrote Valarthu Mringangal...

I will never forget sharing your personal grief over Randamoozham not being made a film. I pray that a great director will be able to create Randamoozham as a tribute to you.

I consider as prayer the great MT blessing me. I believe that it is the greatest blessing in life.
