THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Railways has announced a special MEMU service from Ernakulam to Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Christmas and New Year holidays. The rrailways has announced a MEMU service with 12 coaches from Ernakulam Junction to Thiruvananthapuram North (Kochuveli) and vice versa. The service will be available only on December 30, 31 and January 1.

The train numbers are 06065/06066. The service, which will start from Ernakulam Junction at 9.10 am, will reach Thiruvananthapuram North via Kottayam and Kollam at 12.45 pm. The return journey will leave Thiruvananthapuram North Station at 12.55 pm and reach Ernakulam Junction via Kollam Kottayam at 4.35 pm.

To resolve the travel woes during the Christmas season, the railways had announced ten special services for Kerala. Along with this, 149 trips were also allowed in various zones. Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav gave permission for special trains to Kerala at the request of Minister of State George Kurien.
