KOCHI: MLA Uma Thomas, who was injured after falling down from the VIP gallery of Kaloor Stadium, has been admitted to a ventilator. MLA's brain, lungs and ribs were seriously injured due to the impact of the fall. The hospital authorities informed that 24-hour monitoring is required. Doctors also say that MLA's injuries are not quick to heal. The authorities informed that surgery is not necessary at present.

The MLA was unconscious when she was brought to the hospital. She fell from a height of 15 feet. The degree of brain damage was assessed. The scanning was done after she was put on ventilator. She appears to have suffered brain and spinal injuries. The spine has minor fractures. Her ribs were broken and her lungs were also damaged due to this. Blood entered the lungs because of this.
