KOCHI: Police will register a case against the organizers of the event held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor, Kochi, where Congress MLA Uma Thomas suffered severe injuries after falling from the stage. According to the police, the organizers will be booked for failing to adhere to safety protocols. ADGP Manoj Abraham has given directions to the Kochi Commissioner in this regard. Kochi Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya said that an investigation has been launched into the incident.

Meanwhile, Minister P Rajeev has announced the formation of a medical team for the treatment of Uma Thomas. A team of doctors from Kottayam Medical College will soon arrive in Kochi. Health Minister Veena George also stated that a specialized medical team from the Health Department will assess the MLA's condition. The team, led by Kottayam Medical College Superintendent Dr. Jayakumar, includes experts from both Kottayam and Ernakulam Medical Colleges. This is in addition to the hospital's medical board.

Currently, Uma Thomas is on ventilator support. She suffered a broken spine, injuries to the lungs, and head injuries. Doctors at Kochi's Renai Medicity reported that she sustained injuries that could affect consciousness, response, and memory. The doctors added that the injuries are not of a nature that can be cured immediately.
