CHENNAI: Actor and chief of Thamizhaka Vetri Kazhakam has written an open letter to women and girls. The incident of sexually abusing a girl of Anna University on Christmas Day made him write the letter. The actor shared the letter on his party’s official page.
He assured to build a safe Tamil Nadu and asked not to worry. He said violence towards women pains and will protect you in any situation. His letter said that he will always be with them as their brother and asked to focus only on their studies now.
‘Whom should we ask about your safety? There is no point in asking our administrators. That is why this letter is being written. In Tamil Nadu, women are being subjected to violence, including in educational institutions. I am pained by this. I will be with you as a brother no matter what happens. Will protect you. Don't worry about anything and focus on your studies. We promise to build a safe Tamil Nadu. Together we will ensure it soon', he penned.
Vijay had earlier said that the people will give a major setback to the government in the 2026 assembly elections for not providing the necessary infrastructure or protection to the people. He also said the government working for the people will come to power in 2026.
