THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A roadside eatery under the supervision of the central jail will be opened at Poojappura in the coming days. The food truck and new parcel counters will start functioning next to the canteen of the Jail Department at Poojappura. The final works are in progress and the authorities hope to start operations by January 2025.

The old vehicle of the jail authority will be remodelled to work as a mobile eatery with a separate parcel counter. The shop will mostly attract evening commuters looking for tea and delectable snacks. Jail inmates will be preparing the snacks for the shop.

The old worn-out vehicle of the jail department has been renovated attractively. Chapati, chicken, beef, biryani, sweets, and other sumptuous food varieties will be served through the counters at a modest rate.
