THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The new timetable for train services in the country will come into effect Wednesday. The reformed timetable will have an impact on the state. Malabar and Venad will arrive earlier. Eranad will depart from Thiruvananthapuram five minutes later than usual time.

Thiruvananthapuram-Madurai Amrita Express will be extended to Rameswaram but will be effective only after the commissioning of the new Pamban Bridge. Thiruvananthapuram North (Kochuveli) – Yashwantpura AC weekly superfast train will be converted into express. The train number has also been changed.

The timetable change comes after a gap of one and a half years. Timings of Vande Metro, Amrit Bharat Express and 136 Vande Bharat Express have also been changed.
