THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A scooter passenger met a tragic end when a private bus ran over him at Model School Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala University retired Librarian Durai Raj (77), a native of Poojappura Thamalam tragically died in the incident.

The incident happened around 7.30 pm on Tuesday. The private bus which was going towards Thampanoor hit Durai Raj's scooter, sending him under the bus. The front wheel of the bus then ran over his head.

Cantonment police have taken the bus driver Kaliyoor native IV Anish (42), and conductor Beemapally native Yahia (51) into custody. Due to the incident, the traffic got stuck in the area for a long time.
