KOCHI: Police have registered a case against the organisers of the dance program at Kaloor Stadium in Kochi during which MLA Uma Thomas met with a major accident. Five people, including Mridanga Vision Managing Director M Nighoshkumar (40), his wife, Mridanga Vision CEO Shemir Abdul Rahim and a dance teacher, have been named as accused in the case.

Palarivattom police registered the case for financial exploitation based on the statements of the parents of the children who participated in the program. The statement of sponsors and actress Divya Unni will be recorded in the coming days. Additionally, the statement of actor Sijoy Varghese will also be recorded.

Reports suggest that police will also conduct an investigation into Sijoy's financial dealings. The economic source of the program and the collection of funds are also under investigation. Police will also record the statements of Kalyan Silks authorities. Yesterday, Kalyan Silks revealed through a press note that the actual price of the saree given to the dancers by Mridanga Vision for Rs 1600 was only Rs 390. Mridanga Vision had placed an order for 12,500 sarees. The sarees were supplied at a rate of Rs 390 per saree. Kalyan Silks clarified that they had direct involvement in the program beyond the commercial transaction.
