KOCHI: The latest health update of Uma Thomas MLA, who suffered serious injuries after falling from the stage during a mega dance event in Ernakulam, has come out through her Facebook page. The health update was posted on Uma Thomas MLA's Facebook page by the admin team.

'Happy news on New Year...Sedation and ventilator support are being reduced. Yesterday, Chechi could only move her limbs, but today she has managed to move her whole body. She has also extended New Year wishes to everyone. Let the prayers continue,' the post read.

Uma Thomas showed promising progress in her health condition yesterday. In the morning, she opened her eyes, responded to the doctors' instructions, and recognized her children while still on the ventilator. The treatment for injuries to her spine and head has started to show results, as stated by Dr Krishnanunni Polakkulath, the medical director of Renai Medicity. VD Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala visited the hospital yesterday morning.

The incident occurred on the evening of the 29th during a mega dance evening organized by Wayanad-based Mridanga Vision. Uma fell from a temporary stage built at a height of 14 feet in the gallery of the Kaloor stadium, which lacked even a barricade. The police stated that they would record the statements of actress Divya Unni and actor Sijoy Varghese and investigate their connection with Mridanga Vision. The sources of funding for the event and the money collection processes are also under scrutiny.
