EROOR: Saju Raj (36), son of Raj and Saraswati of Surya Bhavan died after bitten by a viper. He died Tuesday early morning. The people in the locality used to call Saju if a snake is found in the area. He used to catch the snake and abandon it in a safe place.

The snake bit him near Thekkevayal Colony in Eroor. A person identified as Ramachandran (65) died after bitten by the viper. Saju came to the spot knowing about it. The snake bit Saju while cleaning the surroundings of Ramachandran’s house.

Saju was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kottiyam. In between Saju’s health deteriorated and he died early morning. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters. He has been laid to rest. The snake was later handed over to the forest department.
