KOCHI: Police have arrested M Nighosh Kumar, the managing director of Mridanga Vision which organised the mega dance event during which Uma Thomas MLA met with an accident at Kaloor stadium in Kochi. Nighosh Kumar's arrest was formally recorded by the Palarivattom police after he was questioned by senior police officials for seven and a half hours. One of the bank accounts associated with Mridanga Vision has been frozen as part of the investigation. Authorities have stated that Divya Unni, the event's ambassador and actress, might be summoned for questioning if necessary, as she left for the United States on Wednesday night.

As per the High Court's directives, Nighosh Kumar, the first accused in the case, appeared at the Palarivattom station at 2 PM on Thursday. However, PS Jinesh, the third accused and owner of Oscar Events from Thrissur, did not appear. The bank account holding Rs 38 lakhs was frozen after the police registered a case of financial fraud. Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya said that the police are scrutinizing financial transactions related to the event.

The remand periods of Mridanga Vision CEO Shameer Abdul Rahim, Oscar Events Manager Krishnakumar (responsible for stage management), and Benny (responsible for stage construction) will end on Friday.

The Kochi Corporation has initiated a probe led by Secretary PS Shibu into the incident. Notices have been issued to Mridanga Vision for conducting the event without proper permissions. The event organizers are accused of issuing tickets online without proper authorization, causing confusion. Mayor M Anilkumar said that action will be taken against the officials responsible for the lapses.
