KALPETTA: More details have emerged in connection with the suicide of Wayanad DCC Treasurer N M Vijayan. The police have found that Vijayan had a financial liability of Rs one crore in two banks. They are investigating how this liability happened. For this, the investigation team has sought information from 14 banks. Initial information is that Vijayan had financial transactions in ten banks. Investigations are also underway to find out about the loans in other banks.

Meanwhile, Ambalavayal native Shaji has filed a complaint against Vijayan's associates with the district police chief on the bank appointment bribery. The complaint alleged that Rs 3 lakh was paid to former president K K Gopinathan to get a job in Bathery Agricultural and Rural Development Bank. The complaint said Congress leaders C T Chandran and K M Varghese signed as witnesses.
Vijayan and his mentally challenged son Jijesh were found in a critical condition inside their house on December 24, after consuming poison. They consumed pesticide when their family went to the temple. The two died while undergoing treatment. The CPM had alleged that Vijayan committed suicide due to financial obligations.
