MUMBAI: A woman has been arrested for killing her mother thinking that she loved her elder sister more than her. The incident happened in Mumbai's Kurla Qureshi Nagar area the other day. 41-year-old Reshma Muzaffar Qazi, stabbed her 62-year-old mother Sabira Bano Azgar Sheikh (62) to death. She thought that her mother loved her sister more than her. Police said this led to the murder.

Sabira Bano lived with her son in Mumbra. She went to visit her daughter at her residence in Qureshi Nagar. Sabira hoped to get a warm welcome at her daughter's house, but a tragic end awaited her there.

Reshma accused her mother of harbouring bias when she reached her daughter's house. The fight quickly turned violent and in a fit of rage, she took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her mother to death.

After killing her mother, she reached the police station and confessed to the crime. They immediately visited the spot, confirmed her death and took Reshma into custody. The shifted the body to the hospital.

The statements of Sabira Bano’s family members and neighbors were recorded. The investigating officers said they are examining whether there was any other reason to commit the crime.
