KOTHAMANGALAM: Two persons have been arrested for carrying out a theft at a supermarket in Kuthukuzhy in Ernakulam. The arrested persons are Chalakudy Kalloor native Riyadh (23) and Kodungallur native Thanzeer (25). The theft occurred at a supermarket in the Kuthukuzhy area of Nellimattom on the night of December 22. The accused opened the sliding glass door of the supermarket, entered inside, and stole Rs 2,15,840 and a mobile phone from the locker and the counter.

Riyadh is an accused in 38 cases in various police stations in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. There are around 20 cases against Thanzeer in different police stations. The investigation team was led by Muvattupuzha DySP PM Baiju.
