Sridevi, the mother of Plus One student Srinanda Babu, realized that her husband’s painting job would not be sufficient to run the family and help her daughter attend dance class. With the sole aim of helping her daughter continue with her dance class, Thodupzuha native Sreedevi flew to Kuwait for work.

Before leaving for Kuwait, Sreedevi had just one request to Srinanda’s dance teacher Ramya.

“Let my child continue with her dance lessons. I will take care of the expenses”; Out of the first salary of 30000 rupees, 20000 rupees were given to her daughter's dance needs.

Srinanda, who started her dance lessons at age three, is more like a daughter to dance teacher Ramya Harish. She is the first student in Ramya’s dance school, which now accommodates 120 students. Srinanda addresses Ramya as ‘Amma’.

Sreedevi went to Kuwait just four months ago. On Sunday, Ramya recorded her dance video and sent it to Sreedevi through WhatsApp. Immediately after Srinanda’s dance, Sreedevi made a video call to inquire if things were all good.

Apart from Mohiniyattam, Srinanda also competes in Kerala dance. The jewellery rent, participating in the festival, and all other miscellaneous needs have already cost her Rs 25,000.
