KOCHI: There is no CBI probe into the death of former ADM Naveen Babu. A bench led by Justice Kauser Edappagath of the Kerala High Cour dismissed the plea filed by Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha. The court observed that the petitioner was unable to present evidence to prove the possibility of murder.
The court directed that the special investigation team itself should investigate the case. The prosecution had informed the court that it would also examine the family's concerns that it was a murder. Accepting these matters, the high court single bench directed that the present investigation need continue.
Don’t think that there will be an efficient investigation in the case in which a CPM leader is an accused. In this situation, the family demanded a CBI investigation. The petitioner had also informed the court that the family was not satisfied with the investigation by the Kannur police.
If the state police investigate, not much will come out. Many people are releasing many stories related to the incident. The CPM leader is the accused in the case. She has a great influence, including at the administrative level. This may affect the investigation of the case. A fair investigation is needed in this regard.
In the present situation, it is not expected from the state police. To get justice, an investigation by central agencies is needed. The plea sought a proper investigation against the accused. The family had also raised suspicions of murder.
Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha said she will move the court against the verdict. She said that she approached the high court as she was not satisfied with the investigation into the case. She said she will go to any extent. Naveen Babu's brother also said that he would approach the higher court.
