ALAPPUZHA: A woman, who was found tied up a few days ago, has ended her life. She was found hanging in her house at Kattoor in Alappuzha. She has been identified as Thankamma (58), wife of John Kutty of Puthanpurakkal in Kattoor.

She was tied up when no one was at home last Wednesday. Her son then filed a complaint with the police. The police believe that she was the victim of an attack by an unknown person. She was brutally attacked in broad daylight and then tied up to the window bars. Her son, who returned from work, found his mother lying unconscious with a cloth stuffed in her mouth. The attacker left after locking the main door of the house. He entered the house through the kitchen door as there was no response from her even after calling her many times.

It was first believed to be a robbery bid but nothing including her ornaments has not been lost. She committed suicide when a police investigation was underway.
