RAIPUR: Nine security personnel were killed in a devastating Maoist attack in the jungle area of Bijapur Chhattisgarh on Monday. In Bijapur, the Maoists used IED explosives on the Scorpio car travelled by the security personnel. This is one of the worst Maoist attacks in the recent past all across India.
The extremists placed an Improvised Explosive Device on the road and blew it up when the car ferrying the soldiers passed through it. The incident took place at Kutru in the Bijapur region around 2.15 pm this noon
Security forces killed five Maoists, including two women, in an encounter at Abujhmad in Chhattisgarh this morning. Army personnel also seized weapons including AK 47 from them. The retaliation happened when the soldiers were returning after completing this mission. Eight jawans of the District Reserve Guard and the driver lost their lives.
