KATHMANDU: Reports said 32 people were killed in the massive earthquake in Tibet. Chinese news agency AFP reported that tremors of 7.1-magnitude earthquake were felt in various parts of India including Bihar, Assam and West Bengal.
Geographically, Nepal is an earthquake-prone region. Earthquakes are a regular occurrence there. In 2015, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, killing nearly 9,000 people and injuring more than 22,000.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) report, the earthquake struck at 6.35 am on Tuesday. According to the report released by NCS, two more earthquakes occurred in the region shortly after the first one. The second earthquake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale, struck at 7.02 am. The third earthquake of magnitude 4.9 at a depth of 10 km occurred at 7.07 am. This earthquake spread for 30 km. No damage has been reported yet.
