KATHMANDU: The number of people killed in the powerful earthquake in Tibet has risen to 95. According to Chinese news agency AFP, the tremors of the 7.1 magnitude earthquake were felt across various parts of India, including Bihar, Assam and West Bengal.

Numerous houses and buildings were destroyed in the earthquake. Reports indicate that 62 people were injured. Tremors were experienced in northern parts of India, including Bihar's capital Patna, West Bengal, and the northeastern states like Assam.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 6:35 AM today. It was followed by two aftershocks in the region. The first aftershock, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale, struck at 7:02 AM, while the second, with a magnitude of 4.9 and a depth of 10 kilometres, occurred at 7:07 AM. The earthquake's impact extended up to 30 kilometres.
