SULTAN BATHERY: Vijesh, the elder son of Wayanad DCC treasurer NM Vijayan, has come out with serious allegations against Congress leaders in connection with the suicides of his father and brother. Vijesh and his wife Padmaja came forward with their allegations following the release of Vijayan's suicide note. Vijesh said that he was forced to release the suicide note and respond on the matter as the Congress leaders were attempting to establish that Vijayan and his son committed suicide due to family issues.

"We were really hurt by the response of Congress leaders. If the letter had not been released, everyone would think we were responsible for the deaths. The suicide note mentioned that it should be shown to Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, VD Satheesan, and K Sudhakaran. The letter was first shown to IC Balakrishnan and DCC President ND Appachan. It was later read out to Satheesan and, subsequently, Sudhakaran.

Satheesan stated that the letter mentioned individuals but lacked clarity, while Sudhakaran promised to take action. However, the issue was later twisted to make it appear that my father and brother committed suicide due to family problems. Following this, we had to file a complaint with the Women’s Cell. IC Balakrishnan and DP Rajasekharan are behind the smear campaign.

No leaders came to our house after my father's death. My father wished to be buried in a public cemetery, but leaders intervened to cremate him instead. Later, people started coming to the house demanding money. My father told us there were only three debts to settle, which were small amounts. He became a debtor for the party’s sake, but no one from the party came forward to help. We are satisfied with the police investigation," said Vijesh.
