THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM has taken action against state committee member NN Krishnadas. The action was taken for making a statement against the party's position in the suitcase controversy that arose during the Palakkad by-election. State Secretary MV Govindan announced that the party will publicly warn Krishnadas. CPM believes that the statement made by Krishnadas on the suitcase controversy has created a feeling of division within the party.
"Various issues arose during the election phase. NN Krishnadas' response was different from the party's stand of taking a decision by discussing the issues in general. This was examined in detail by the Party State Committee. The election process should be carried out harmoniously. The state committee has decided to publicly warn the party state committee member who reacted in such a way that it seemed that there was division in the party among the public at that stage', said Govindan.
Govindan said that although the polling percentage decreased in the by-elections, the votes of the LDF candidate increased. He said that it is clear that Congress leaders are behind the incidents that led to the suicide of Wayanad DCC Treasurer and IC Balakrishnan should resign as MLA in this regard.
MV Govindan added that it is clear that money was collected on the advice of IC Balakrishnan and DCC President for appointment in Nilambur Urban Bank and NM Vijayan had to provide collateral for the bribe taken by the leaders.
