KOCHI: Renowned businessman Boby Chemmanur, also known as Boche, was taken into police custody today morning from a resort in Wayanad. Boby, who arrived at the resort in a luxury car, was transported to Kochi in a police jeep after being taken into custody. However, he appeared unperturbed by the case and was seen smiling, waving, and bidding farewell to media personnel and bystanders as he sat in the jeep. As usual, he was dressed in his trademark white attire.
The police believe that Boche arrived at the resort near Thollayiram Kandi, possibly intending to go into hiding or seek anticipatory bail in the wake of the case registered on the complaint lodged by actress Honey Rose. The police officials took Boby into custody foreseeing his moves. Initially, Boche was taken to the District Police Camp in Puthurvayal by car. After the media captured footage of him sitting in the car's back seat, he was transferred to a police jeep and transported to Kochi. He will be interrogated at the Kochi Central Police Station and subjected to a medical examination before being formally arrested.
The police, which registered a case under non-bailable sections on the complaint of Honey Rose, had been closely monitoring Boche's moves. Reports emerged that he was planning to seek anticipatory bail and go into hiding. Acting on a tip-off that Boche had arrived at the resort, the Kochi police passed the information to the Wayanad police. Following this, he was taken into police custody.
