THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan asked officials to expedite a decision on the applications for reclassification of land for building houses. The CM also asked officials to duly inform the applicants in case of any legal obstacle.
According to the Chief Minister, if an application is made for building a house at 5 cents in city limits and 10 cents in villages, the inspections should be carried out quickly. The Chief Minister was speaking after the annual conference of District Collectors and Heads of Departments.
"All technical hurdles for reclassification of land converted to homestead should be cleared before the Paddy Fields Act comes into effect. Climate resilience activities should be implemented at the district level using the District Mining Fund. Advanced tools should be installed to predict unexpected weather changes. The information on unused buildings in the state should be compiled and reported to the Secretary of the Local Self-Government Department. Purapura solar energy system will be installed by CIAL in houses being built for Wayanad disaster victims. One panchayat in the district should be completely converted to solar energy and become a model solar energy panchayat." said CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
