IDUKKI: A huge fire broke out in a building in Vandiperiyar on early Sunday morning. The fire broke out in the KR Building at Pasumala Junction. Five establishments operating on the first floor of the building and two establishments on the second floor were burnt down. It is reported that the accident caused a loss of crores of rupees.

Furniture, household appliances and spare parts were burnt. The fire broke out around 2 am on Saturday. Some people got alarmed seeing the flames and immediately informed the fire force. Kattappana, Peerumedu and Kanjirappally fire force units reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The primary reason for the fire is a short circuit.
