Amidst the spiralling Boby Chemmanur controversy, the release of actress Honey Rose’s new movie ‘Rachel’ was postponed. Directed by debutant Anandini Bala, the film starring Honey Rose in the lead role was slated to be released on January 10. But the date was unexpectedly postponed the other day. Some believe the current controversy involving BoChe has something to do with the delay. However, the makers of the movie came later with a clarification.
Earlier, Boby questioned the timing the actress chose to complain and alleged it to be a promotion gimmick for ‘Rachel’ movie. But the film's co-producer NM Badusha denied these allegations. In a note shared by Badusha on social media, he said that the technical work of the film is yet to be completed which has forced the makers to change the release date.
“Rachel's technical work still needs to be done. The film is not censored. Even the application has not been submitted. Censorship must be applied for 15 days before the release date. It has nothing to do with Honey Rose or the current issues. The release date of the film will be announced soon”- NM Badusha wrote on Facebook.
At the same time, it is clear from the teaser that the film emphasizes the violence genre. Apart from Malayalam, the film will also be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Along with Honey Rose, Baburaj, Kalabhavan Shajon, Roshan Basheer, Chanthu Salimkumar, Radhika Radhakrishnan, Jafar Idukki, Vineeth Thattil, Joji, Dinesh Prabhakar, Polly Watson, Vandita Manoharan are also appearing in the film.
