KOZHIKODE: Rajith Kumar, driver of missing real estate trader Mohammad Attoor alias Mami, opened up about facing mental assaults from police. Rajith and his wife Thushara were missing while the investigation of Mami’s missing case was progressing. The two were later found in a lodge in Guruvayur.

“I am being summoned to the police station daily. I am not able to do any work. There have been occasions when police officials entered my house after jumping the gates at 4 am. On one such day, we were taken to the police station and were released at 3 am the next morning. The local police have tortured us big. Since Mami went missing, we have been subjected to gruelling mental torture by the police." said Rajith.

Mami went missing on August 21, 2023. In the investigation conducted focusing on the mobile phone, it was found that he was at Atholi, Thalakulathur region during the noon hours of August 22. As part of the investigation, 147 people were questioned. More than a thousand phone calls were examined. Kozhikode State Crime Branch took over the investigation last September after the family expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation conducted by a special investigation team.
