THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A police case under POCSO act was filed against CPI leader Vishnu Babu for attempting to molest a 12th-standard girl. A case was registered by the Vizhinjam police. The incident related to the case took place last September.

According to the complaint, Vishnu tried to molest the girl at her house in Mullur. The complainant was studying at a private school. The girl and her mother had approached Vishnu asking him to intervene to withdraw the disciplinary action taken by the school authorities against the victim’s brother. Vishnu settled the case and soon became close with the victim’s family. Meanwhile, on September 18, the CPI leader reached the house in Mullur and caressed the girl with sexual intent.

A case has been registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl and her family with the Vizhinjam police.
