BHOPAL: A youth has been arrested for murdering his girlfriend and storing the body in a refrigerator. The shocking incident took place in Madhya Pradesh. The deceased is Pinky Prajapati (30). The body was found dead inside a refrigerator in a house rented by the accused, Sanjay Patidar. According to the police, the body of Pinky, dressed in a saree and adorned with jewellery, was in an advanced state of decomposition, and it appeared that she had been strangled. Police believe the murder took place in June of the previous year.

Pinky had been in a relationship with Sanjay Patidar, a native of Ujjain, for five years. Sanjay, who was already married, rented another house to live with Pinky. She had been pressuring him to marry her, which allegedly led to the murder. With the help of his friends, Sanjay killed Pinky and stored her body in the refrigerator.

The incident came to light after neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the house and informed the landlord. Upon inspection, the decomposed body was found in the fridge. The landlord immediately alerted the police. The house is owned by Dheerendra Srivastava, who resides in Indore. In June 2023, Srivastava had rented the house to Sanjay.

A year later, Sanjay vacated the house but left his belongings in one of the rooms. Although another family came to view the property, Sanjay refused to open the room where his belongings were kept. The key to the room remained with Sanjay. When the electricity to that room was disconnected, the foul smell began to spread, eventually leading to the discovery of the crime.
