THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have registered a case against a serial production controller for allegedly sexually assaulting a junior artist coordinator. The Thiruvallam police have filed a case against Asim Fazi based on the complaint. The incident reportedly took place in July during a night shoot at Chitranjali Studio, where the accused allegedly misbehaved with the woman under the influence of alcohol.

The incident occurred on the night of July 19, during a night shoot. According to the woman's complaint, Asim approached her from behind and grabbed her. She managed to escape and informed other junior artists about the incident. Following this, the producer intervened and requested her not to file a complaint. He assured that Aseem would be removed from the production. However, Asim continued to harass her.

The survivor further revealed that women on serial sets are often pressured to "adjust," and the first question asked when assigning work is whether they are willing to comply with such demands. Those who refuse to provide junior artists for such "adjustments" are threatened with removal from their jobs.

When the harassment escalated, she informed the producer again, who removed Asim from two serials. Despite this, Asim continued to call her demanding women.

Eventually, he re-entered the serial production despite being removed earlier. Determined to make sure that no women go through such an ordeal in the future, the survivor finally filed the complaint with the Thiruvallam police. She revealed that she hadn't reported the incident earlier solely because the producer had asked her not to. She further stated that women are not safe in locations and often don't even have a secure space to change their clothes.
