PALAKKAD: Lightning inspection of vigilance repeats at motor vehicle check posts in Palakkad district borders. Rs 1,77,490 was seized. Palakkad VACB Deputy Superintendent of Police S Shamsuddin led the inspection which lasted from 10 pm on Sunday to 3 am on Monday.

A team consisting of 30 vigilance officers and 5 gazetted officers conducted checks in five teams at motor vehicle check posts at Walayar In, Walayar Out, Gopalapuram, Natupuni and Govindapuram. Rs 1,49,490 was seized during the checks conducted at the same check posts from 11 pm to 3 am on Friday.

Rs 1,27,490 including unaccounted Rs 6,200 was seized from the motor vehicle check post in Walayar and AMVI Siby D'Cruz. 10,500 was seized from Walayar Out Motor Vehicle Check Post. 21,110 rupees were seized from Gopalapuram, 10,550 rupees from Govindapuram and 7,840 rupees from Nadupuni check post.
