KALPETTA: The mission to capture the tiger that has entered the inhabited area at Amarakuni near Pulpally in Wayanad continues at night. It is reported that there is a tiger near the trap in Ootikavala. The mission team flew a thermal drone and started surveillance. The tranquilizing team is also ready at the spot. The tiger is now in a nearby coffee plantation. Dr Arun Zachariah's tranquilizing team is at the spot.


Residents of the area have been warned. More police have also been deployed here. This morning too, the tiger had killed a goat in Amarakuni. This is the fourth domestic animal killed by the tiger in a week. At two o'clock in the morning, the tiger caught the goat from Paikandath Santhosh's house in Ootikava. The tiger left the goat and ran away after the family made noise. More police were deployed on the spot when the locals shared their concern about the continuous tiger attacks.

Schools in Amarakuni were declared closed yesterday due to tiger attacks. Holiday was declared for Mmghs Kappiset, Sree Narayana LP School Kappiset, Devamatha Alps Adikolly and St. Mary's English Medium.
