KOCHI: An investigation has been initiated based on the intelligence report that Boby Chemmanur was visited by VIPs in Kakkanad District Jail. Central Zone Jail DIG P Ajay Kumar had visited Kakkanad District Jail on Friday. It is reported that two persons entered the jail at this time without entering their names in the visitor's diary. The meeting was held in the superintendent's office.

According to the report received at the prison headquarters, Boby was given 200 rupees to make a phone call, breaking the prison rules. Secret Intelligence Service officials reached the jail and checked the visitor's book and CCTV footage. The Jail Department may also investigate. It is reported that there has been a serious failure on the part of the prison authorities.

Jail DIG stated that the visit during the journey to Thiruvananthapuram was to investigate a complaint related to the District Jail and that he met Bobby. Jail DIG said that there were no VIPs among the visitors.

Yesterday, a large group including women came to the jail with flowers to receive Boby when he was released on bail. It was told that Boby would not be released yesterday after his talk with the lawyers about the bail order. Those who came to receive Boby returned at seven o'clock in the evening.
