LONDON: A 57-year-old Malayali nurse was stabbed in the UK. Achamma Cherian, who works at the Oldham Royal Hospital in Manchester, Britain, was the victim of the attack. The attack occurred on Saturday. The assailant, identified as 37-year-old Raomon Haque, stabbed Achamma Cherian with scissors.

The incident happened when the accused grew agitated after having to wait for a medical examination. Achamma was attending to another patient when the accused stabbed her in the neck with scissors. She sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. The accused has been remanded by the court. Achamma has been working at Oldham Royal Hospital for nearly ten years. She and her husband have been residing in the UK since 2007, with their home located near the hospital.
